Eltel signs a EUR 20 million contract with Jernbaneverket in Norway

Eltel Networks AS has signed a contract with the Norwegian Jernbaneverket on delivery of high and low voltage electricity systems and a telecom system. The double track section is 17 km long and located 60 km north of Oslo.
The contract is of major importance for Eltel’s Norwegian Rail & Road business. The duration of the project is three years and will greatly strengthen Eltel’s development in Norway. Jernbaneverket is the agency of the Norwegian government for railway services.
The delivery includes three tunnels with a total length of 4,8 km, and among others 14 technical rooms, fire alarms, exit controls, ventilation, cables and raised floor, 22 kV station, low voltage installation, info screens, SRO system, lighting, fibre network, radio masts and steel cables.
”We are happy to have Eltel Networks in a position for further work to build the double track between Langset and Kleverud”, says the project director Erik Nilssen at Jernbaneverket Construction.

”This contract is strategically important for our expansion of the Rail business in Norway. It proves the strength of Eltel’s specialised organisation that utilises the competences across country borders”, says Fredrik Häggström, President for the Rail & Road from Eltel.

”We established the Rail & Road unit in Norway in January 2012 and had a turnover of ca. EUR 4 million during the first year. This project is a milestone for our unit in Norway”, says Erling Haugnes, Director of the unit in Norway.
