AIDON - Rauman Energia and Vakka-Suomen Voima selected Aidon’s remote reading technology

Aidon delivers a total of 43,000 new-generation smart energy service devices for the remote reading systems of Rauman Energia and Vakka-Suomen Voima. The energy service devices will replace the traditional electricity meters and later also meters representing older remote reading technology. The total service will be delivered by Enfo and the devices will be installed by Voimatel.

- New-generation remote reading technology will enhance network management and maintenance and open up opportunities to further develop the business, says Juho Jussila, Business Director at Vakka-Suomen Voima.

- Low-voltage network management (PiHa) can be gradually deployed by upgrading the energy service devices. From that on, we will receive up-to-date information on the quality of electricity in the metering point without visiting the site. This is particularly significant when serving customers on scattered settlement and archipelago areas.

- We felt that Aidon’s technology can best respond to the requirements of the future. Reliability, cost-efficiency and the flexible, customer-oriented way to act influenced the decision, Jussila says.

By choosing energy service devices instead of traditional remotely readable meters, significant savings in costs and higher customer satisfaction can be achieved. At the same time, also the future requirements for smart grid functionalities will be met.

– We wanted to get the newest technology in the business and that is why the purchase decision was not made until now, Marko Silokoski, Network Manager at Rauman Energia points out.
