COUNT+CARE and GÖRLITZ collaborate to overcome challenges in the field of metering systems

Innovative technological platform for high-performance data processing and automation of specific market processes.

Effective from today COUNT+CARE and GÖRLITZ will work hand in hand to enhance the system mapping of market-specific processes expected to evolve during the statutory roll out of smart metering systems in Germany. The objective is to develop a scalable and mass-data compatible process-based platform for provision of data for the diverse market roles and which will ultimately increase the efficiency of business processes. The cooperation incorporates the COUNT+CARE process expertise and GÖRLITZ proficiency in meter data management (MDM), it will grant added value to customers and guarantees crucial competitive advantages. The debut for the innovative software solution is scheduled for the E-world 2013 with the initial version including processes for metering operations and services. Alone this functionality will clearly show the significant impact of a fully-automated infrastructure on company processes and systems.

„Section 21 of the Energy Industry Act Amendment in 2011 stipulating the installation of modern metering systems at final consumers with an annual consumption in excess of 6,000 KWh, marks the beginning of extensive rollouts“, declared Volker Abert, Managing Director of COUNT+CARE GmbH. The executive board member for sales at GÖRLITZ AG, Simon Löffler, stressed a decisive factor in this context „GÖRLITZ has played key roles in numerous major European projects where we have acquired valuable knowledge and experience. This will stand us in good stead as due to the limited experience of mass rollouts in the German market, the players are often not fully aware of the consequences of the changeover and widespread use of new meters.“ This paradigm shift is the distinct target of COUNT+CARE und GÖRLITZ. The process-relevant effects of collecting and processing metering data in real time will not only be scrutinised, but the potential arising from the automation of business processes can also be detailed and mapped efficiently in the system according to the market role. The collaboration goes far beyond the guarantee of a mass meter operation and the enormous data volume generated, but also offers the individual market roles a competitive edge – such as improved network utilisation by the grid operator, effective workforce management by the metering point operator, procurement optimisation by the suppliers or the provision of attractive services to visualise consumption for end customers.

In the future processes will be controlled perfectly and task-related via IDSpecto, the new generation MDM system.

Perfect Teamwork
The workflows integrated in the new system architecture of the internationally established IDSpecto form the basis of the role-specific processes, the development of which is a fusion of superior solution experience from GÖRLITZ and specific experience and know-how from COUNT+CARE. An additional innovation from GÖRLITZ is the agile software development, whereby sub-processes are created consistent with this method. These are checked under real conditions in the test system and adapted if necessary, to satisfy later the requirements of the diverse market players, all of course in line with legal regulations. The customer base at COUNT+CARE GmbH also benefit from the increased efficiency.
