A new billion krona business has been born in Sweden and we need hundreds of new employees

On 1 September, E.ON ES will change its name to ONE Nordic, which is part of the ONE brand. ONE is a Nordic company that has previously operated under the names Sydkraft Service and ElektroSandberg. This is all now part of the company’s history. After the change in ownership and separation from E.ON, ONE is now an independent company. Altor Fund III owns 90.5% of ONE and E.ON Sverige owns 9.5%. ONE is a leading total supplier in the Nordic region within energy technology and contracting work. The company is in a strong growth period and needs to reinforce its organisation with hundreds of the best energy technicians, specialists and project managers in Sweden.

“ONE is a name that implies commitment and rhymes well with the strategies and ambitions we have established. ONE signals that we are an independent company that can stand on our own. ONE also signals our aim to provide total solutions, end-to-end. ONE corresponds well with our ambition to be the leading Nordic total supplier within energy technology and contracting work,” says Bengt Ekenstierna, CEO at ONE

Financial position and ownership
The company’s turnover in 2010 was SEK 2.7 billion, and it generated an outcome of (EBITDA) SEK 141 million with approximately 1,400 employees. The aim is to grow and expand geographically and in terms of the company’s current business. On 10 March 2011, Altor Fund III acquired 90.5% of the shares in E.ON ES from E.ON Sverige AB. E.ON will stay on as a minority shareholder in order to support the enterprise’s development during a transitional period. ONE is an independent company whose Board of Directors is made up of representatives from the company’s owners and from the business world.

It is worth noting that ONE is not part of a traditional group, but is rather an independent company owned by Altor Fund III.

New Energy Society to be built
The current infrastructure in society needs to be modernised in terms of reliability, the environment and cost efficiency. The need for renewal is considerable and will require extensive investments to ensure a continued high degree of reliability. At the same time, commitment to sustainable development is growing, which includes demands to reduce energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. Together with our customers and suppliers, we have accepted the challenge to meet these demands with new ideas and methods and with a focus on reliability and problem-free solutions – knowledge that gives energy.

Öresund Rally – electric car rally
“As part of The New Energy Society initiative, ONE will take part in the Electric Car Rally in Öresund – one of the first electric car rallies in Europe. The cars in the rally will drive around the Öresund region on 10 and 11 September 2011; this segment is one of the four competitions included in the Öresund Rally. ONE will erect and maintain one of the electric car filling stations. The electricity used at the filling stations will naturally be green. The event will be witnessed at Stortorget in the centre of Malmö on 11 September,” says Ekenstierna. He continues, “The electric car rally is one aspect of the City of Malmö’s ‘E-mission’ project, an EU-financed project aimed at promoting the development of electric cars in the Öresund region. E-mission also includes Copenhagen Municipality, Region Skåne, City of Helsingborg and Öresundskraft AB”.

ONE needs hundreds of new employees

“ONE is in a strong growth period and needs to hire hundreds of new employees in the Nordic region – everything from engineers to project managers and fitters. ONE’s aim is to be the market leader within the energy industry. Another of ONE’s aims is to become the industry’s most attractive employer,” concludes Ekenstierna, who expresses a strong faith in the future.
