Eltel helps Vattenfall to secure electricity supply in Sweden
 
Vattenfall Distribution has decided to open for competitive bidding its maintenance, projects in distribution and regional networks as well as maintenance of stations in all its geographical areas in Sweden, step by step by the year 2017.
 
Two geographical areas, Southeast Götaland and Stockholm, have been out on the market since turn of the year. Eltel’s Power Distribution has won the largest area called Stockholm, which includes facilities in several locations around the city. In the area Vattenfall has 159,000 customers, 15,000 km lines, 2,900 substations and 19,000 distribution pillars.
 
The agreement runs for three years, starting 1st of January, 2014 and its estimated worth is EUR 10 million per year. The project is expected to employ 35−40 persons. First implementation projects have already been started. With this deal, Eltel becomes the main contractor for the largest network owners in Sweden. These are Svenska Kraftnät, Vattenfall, Fortum and E.ON.
