OSGP Alliance demonstrates the benefits of modern smart grid standard to European Utility Week participants

During European Utility Week 2013, from October 15-17 in Amsterdam, the OSGP Alliance offered participants the opportunity to learn how utilities are using Open Smart Grid Protocol (OSGP) to create a more secure, reliable, and proven modern grid.
OSGP Alliance members and supporters welcomed them in the OSGP Alliance Pavilion, booth number 1.C09.

The Open Smart Grid Protocol (OSGP) is a family of specifications published by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) used in conjunction with the ISO/IEC 14908 control networking standard for smart grid applications. OSGP is optimized to securely provide reliable and efficient delivery of command and control information for smart meters, direct load control modules, solar panels, gateways, and other smart grid devices. With over 4 million OSGP based smart meters and devices deployed worldwide it is one of the most widely used smart meter and smart grid device networking standards.

Hosted by platinum sponsors LG CNS and Echelon Corporation along with Ciac International Technologies, Giza Systems, Kapsch Smart Energy GmbH, Power Meter Technics (PTY) Ltd and Ubitronix Solutions GmbH, the OSGP Alliance pavilion will provide attendees with the opportunity to talk to industry experts and see first-hand demonstrations of multi-vendor smart grid interoperability using OSGP.  In addition to products and services from the pavilion sponsors, smart electric meters, gas and water meter adapters, direct load control modules, in home displays and other devices that work with the OSGP ecosystem will be on display from Diehl Metering, ELO, Energy Aware, GEO, Görlitz, Mitsubishi Electric, and Vidcom.
